Lanny Beach

President of Top Bead Welding

In the genesis of Top Bead Welding Service, the roots trace back to September 1988 when Lanny Beach immersed himself in the feed mill and agricultural industry. His journey led him to technical school in 1991, where he delved into sheet metal, welding, and fabrication.

While working part-time in feed mills, Beach witnessed a surge in demand in the millwright industry. Seizing the opportunity, he founded Top Bead Welding Service in December 1998. The initial phase saw Beach operating mobile services from trucks. Two years later, he inaugurated his first shop, a 2,000-square-foot space with four employees.

The year 2000 marked the commencement of the construction of Top Bead Welding's current site, initially an empty 3,600-square-foot shop. Beach tirelessly worked, dedicating long hours, including weekends and holidays, to establish the foundation of his business. In 2002, a 25'x60' extension was added, increasing the workforce to 8-10 employees. A year later, Beach acquired his first 12.5-ton crane, propelling Top Bead Welding into a new phase.

As the business gained traction, so did its reach. Starting in 2004 Beach ventured beyond Virginia, frequently traveling to states like Georgia, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Years later in 2019, another significant chapter unfolded with a major shop addition, adding 14,700 square feet of fabrication floor space. The relentless dedication and a steadfast reputation for reliability and skill fueled Top Bead's steady growth.

Today, Top Bead Welding stands tall with a workforce exceeding 40 employees, four cranes, and a diverse array of machinery. Beach's enduring relationships with both customers and employees, coupled with an unwavering passion for continuous learning, form the bedrock of Top Bead Welding's success story.
